Aschoo LLC (“Aschoo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website aschoo.com and the Aschoo application (collectively, the “Service”). We help parents in Manhattan and New York City find and match with private schools and preschools.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data. By using our Service, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information

• Email address (used to create and manage your account)
• Password (stored securely and encrypted)

Quiz & Preference Data

• Neighborhood preferences
• Budget range for tuition
• Child's grade level and age range
• School philosophy preferences (e.g., Montessori, traditional, progressive)
• Language and religious preferences
• Class size preferences

Usage Data

• Pages visited and features used within the Service
• Saved schools and match results
• Application deadline data you enter

Payment Information

We use Stripe to process payments. Aschoo does not store your credit card number or payment details. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

Technical Data

• IP address, browser type, and device information
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 06)

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Generate personalized school match results based on your quiz responses
• Display school profiles, tuition ranges, and match scores
• Process payments for Premium and Pro plans via Stripe
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) via our email provider
• Improve and maintain the Service
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and Resend (transactional email). These providers access your data only to perform services on our behalf.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business Transfer: If Aschoo is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance.

We retain your account and preference data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Match results and school preference data associated with your account are deleted when your account is deleted.

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep you logged in to your account (authentication cookies)
• Remember your preferences
• Understand how users interact with the Service (analytics)

You can control cookie settings in your browser. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service.

Aschoo is a platform for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

The Service may contain links to third-party websites (such as school websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, if the changes are material, notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
